Vicki Jean (Clarke) Campbell died on June 26, 2026, in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 73. Her death came suddenly as she was looking forward to a busy summer spent with family and friends in Ketchikan.

Vicki was born on January 11, 1953, to Jean and Tom Clarke of Shoreline, Washington. She grew up there as the eldest of three children and graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1971. Vicki was raised in a loving home with her parents and two brothers, who became the foundation for the mother she would one day become. She credited her parents for everything and rarely went a day without sharing stories about them and her childhood in Seattle. She met her lifelong best friends during those school years, and those women became an important part of her children's lives as well. She kept her circle close.

After graduation, she and a girlfriend traveled to Ketchikan, Alaska, to see what the world had in store. There she met Jim Shull, who would become her first husband. Together they had three children—Wade, Aaron, and Aimee—who quickly became the center of her life.

Vicki and Jim spent time living in both Ketchikan and the Seattle area, depending on where his work took them. During those years, Vicki became part of the Shull family and formed relationships that lasted her entire life.

After divorcing in 1986, Vicki returned to Seattle with her children to be closer to her family. Wade, however, had other plans. He hinted that there was a dad in Ketchikan with three boys who needed a wife. That dad was her beloved Sonny. After a couple of years of persistent encouragement from the kids, the family did move back to Ketchikan. In a crazy twist of fate, Vicki and Sonny met at the boys' football games, and the rest is history.

Vicki and Sonny were married on March 29, 1990. Along with Sonny came a very large extended family who welcomed Vicki as one of their own. Together they operated a successful charter fishing business in Ketchikan while raising one large blended family made up of Vicki's three children and Sonny's three sons.

She often laughed about the incredible amount of food she cooked to feed five teenage boys. All she had to do was leave the leftovers on the counter, and by morning every last bite would be gone. Somehow she kept the house spotless, worked full time at Ketchikan Medical Clinic, managed the bookkeeping for the charter business, raised six kids, and did it all with a smile—mostly. Life was crazy and often bumpy with their very own Brady Bunch, but somehow they all made it work. This year, Vicki and Sonny celebrated 36 wonderful years of marriage.

Vicki spent most of her career in the medical field, working at Ketchikan Medical Clinic and later at PeaceHealth in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department. She and Sonny also owned The Edge Coffee Shop for several years. The friendships she built through work became some of the people she cherished most outside of work. She was fortunate to retire while she and Sonny were still young enough to begin a new chapter together.

In 2019, Vicki and Sonny purchased a second home in Sun City, Arizona, and began spending part of each year there. Eventually they made Sun City their permanent home while returning often to Ketchikan to stay close to family and friends. Vicki became quite the golfer, always taking the game seriously and working to improve with every round. Sun City was a wonderful place for her to spend her final years. She and Sonny built another close circle of friends there and somehow seemed even busier in retirement than their children were. Life was good. Vicki was never far from her two little sidekicks, Fern and Willie, who kept her laughing and brought her endless joy.

Vicki was a caring, loving person who gave everything she had to her children, grandchildren, friends, and, of course, her beloved dogs. She made sure family gathered together whenever possible and never missed hosting Christmas cookie decorating for the kids. An avid and talented, ribbon-winning quilter, she also volunteered with hospice, sitting with people during their final days so that no one would have to be alone.

Her passing is a devastating blow to all who loved her. No one was ready, and most importantly, neither was she. Vicki fully intended to live to be a very old woman, and her family is heartbroken that she was not given that chance.

Vicki is survived by her devoted husband, Sonny; her children, Wade (Katie), Aaron (Rachael), Aimee, Cable (Sarah), Lance, and Krag (Suzie); and her beloved grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Genevieve, Ella, Max, Alexander, Damion, Taylor, Karmen, and Kaleb. She is also survived by her brothers, Jeff Clarke (Linda) and Steve Clarke (Stella). Through the Clarke, Campbell, and Shull families, she also leaves behind many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
