Michael Joseph
Sanchez
Apr 25, 1976 — May 12, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Sanchez, who died of natural causes on May 12, 2026 at the age of 51 in Kent, WA.
Michael was born on April 25, 1975 in Long Beach, CA to Lynne St. Amant and Richard Sanchez. He grew up in the cities of Norwalk and Riverside California, where he developed a lifelong love of music, art, automobiles, and anything Disney.
He graduated from La Sierra High School and sang the national anthem at his commencement ceremony. He attended Riverside City College and went on to work in a variety of industries, ranging from hospitality to security. The highlight of his career was working for many years at Disneyland while also serving as a board member for the SEIU workers union. Michael also had many skills he developed over the years including work as an entrepreneur, mechanic, and an apprentice electrician.
Michael had strong faith and often turned to our Lord through prayer when things got difficult. His faith included his belief of Jesus Christ as his Savior, and a deep admiration for the Holy Mother & her apparition as Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Among his greatest joys were his children, grandchildren, and family. The love he had for his family and friends was so great that he would drop everything to be there for them when they needed him. He touched countless lives through his God-given musical talent that he shared with so many people. Michael mastered the art of playing the guitar and created music that brought enjoyment to others. His love of making music in multiple genres made him stand out as a musician and artist.
Michael is survived by his parents; his children, Cody (Jade), Otto, Daisy, and Isabella; his grandchildren Rose Mary, Olivia, and Remy; his brother Eric (Roslyn); and many cherished friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren and Ceola St. Amant, Albert and Martha Sanchez, and his uncle, Brian Sanchez.
A Funeral Mass will be held on July 16, 2026 at 10:00am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Tacoma, WA. Following the service a reception will take place on site.
We entrust Michael’s soul to God’s loving mercy and ask that all who knew him keep him in their prayers.
